Groundworkers plough on through the snow at North Tyneside site

The Signal Construction team has been battling the elements in recent weeks as we undertake groundworks at our new build site in Murton, North Tyneside.

Thanks to the use of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), these 7 new homes flew up during the summer months, meaning the recent snowfall and heavy rains haven't slowed the progress of works on site.

Using SIPs means all the new houses were watertight as soon as the panels were in place. This allowed us to begin the internal fit out immediately, even as work continued on the external envelope.

As well as allowing us to accelerate the construction programme, this is also a massive benefit when working on a development in the North East, where the weather can be wildly unpredictable - even in the summer months - as it means a delay to the external works doesn't hold up progress on the internal elements.

Our groundworkers are now wrapped up warm and ploughing ahead with drainage and road works and we're well on track to complete work on this development early in 2026.
